Welcome to FUN!

FUN is a State of Florida chartered, non-profit organization dedicated to the education and enrichment of numismatics in our State and beyond. From our humble beginnings, these four members of the Clearwater Coin Club - Robert Hendershott, Herb Brand, V.J. Ambrose and Douglas Brown - organized the Florida United Numismatists (FUN) in 1955. Since that initial organizational meeting, FUN has become the largest regional organization in the United States to serve our industry. Our membership is comprised of hobbyists, collectors and dealers who share a common interest. We are best known for our annual convention which is held each January in the state of Florida. Our convention is a premiere event attracting dealers and collecting enthusiasts from every corner of the United States and around the world. Many in the hobby look to the FUN Convention to determine the direction which numismatics will take for the upcoming months.

For the past couple of years, our average dealer booths have been around 600 with 1,800 to 2,000 dealers offering numismatic items to the public and other dealers. Heritage Auctions will conduct the auction. It will be hard to beat the 2014 record $91 million sale. It is not hard to see that your numismatic collection should be consigned with the number one auction firm in the industry and sold at the number one show in the country. You can get more details fromthe Heritage website at www.ha.com.

The January 2024 convention had 660 dealer booths. We look forward to the 70th Annual convention in Orlando, FL., January 9 - 12 2025. The convention will be held at the Orange County Convention Center, 9899 Universal Drive in Hall NB, The show will be open to the public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and Sunday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

We are honored annually with superb educational exhibits covering all aspects of numismatics. Our competitive exhibits vie for our coveted awards. FUN's educational programs are second to none. We consistently have three full days of educational talks and clinics at our January FUN convention. We also hold a Young Numismatists (YN) program on Saturday. The program's goal is to nurture YNs in their understanding of numismatics. After the YN program, we sponsor Boy Scout Merit Badge and Girl Scout FUN with Money Patch programs. Many member clubs and other numismatic organizations hold their annual or semi-annual meetings at our conventions and also have booths to promote their organizations.

FUN provides a coin club "get together" at the annual convention in January. It is open to all FUN member clubs and is held Saturday at noon. Each club may send two representatives to the meeting. We have a buffet luncheon followed by door prizes and a group discussion on improving your coin club.
